OUR STORY
The accessibility of Internet pornography has created a generation that is exposed at a very young age. Consequently, those young men and women are watching porn to self-medicate against trauma and hurt in their lives, which creates an addiction that grips them into adulthood. This has led to a porn epidemic, the likes of which we haven't even begun to realize the effects of.
Our story is no different. Our counselors have both battled and found freedom from their own addictions, or are partners of addicts who understand the feelings of betrayal. We understand the cycle of addiction and have sympathy for the destruction it causes in marriages, relationships, and families.

At Mending Hearts Counseling we create a safe, confidential space to discuss your situation. We believe in using cognitive behavioral approaches and goals that will help you to establish new, healthy behaviors to replace the compulsive, addictive ones. We provide unconditional care and regard, and empathic attention.
If you are the spouse of a sex addict, you did not cause the addiction but you are surely suffering through the devastating effects of betrayal, post-traumatic stress, and depression. You are not alone. Using Gestalt techniques, we will work with you to process through the anger, pain, and grief to find healing and forgiveness, whether you stay in the marriage or not. We provide individual and marital counseling as well as work groups for support. We offer Christian-based approaches (if requested).
